Alpine Nomads

“The main group is the Roma and they originate in India where they lost some war centuries ago and were forced out of the country and became nomads. There are also ALPINE GYPSIES called the Jenisch or YENISCH PEOPLE of Austria and Switzerland. Although their way of life is similar to the Roma they are really white gypsies who are indigenous to the area. A third group of gypsies is called the Sinti. They are closely related to the Roma but considered culturally different.”
